The Polar Bear explores the North
A canadian symbol of friends in the north.
The explorer of the top of the world.
Some Canadians belly laugh at the mystfied hugely intense friend.
They share the North Pole with Foreigners.
With a twinkle in his eye he ties Canada to a bed of ice he calls home.

Abi and Cody on their first boat ride to the Magic Kingdom.
They had been up up since 4:00 am. They are so excited...
I'm sure they were just running on pure adrenalin.

This is Abi on the boat to Magic Kingdom.
It is in this picture where Magic Kingdom is
coming into view and she is getting her first
 glimpse of it....

Waiting for our boat ride to the Magic Kingdom!!!!
We had just arrived, checked in at our resort called "Fort Wilderness" and couldn't wait to get to the Magic Kingdom. We could take the bus anywhere we wanted to in Disney World which was huge.
From our resort....we could take a boat ride to Magic Kingdom. Now ....how exciting is that.....

On our way to our family vacation of a life time.

Florida bound and Disney memories that will last a lifetime....

I decided to place a yellow rose on this poem as Gertie always said that a yellow rose meant "good bye" There was a yellow rose also placed on Gertie's casket at her funeral.
I did this poem and design in memory of Joe's mom and my loving mother-in -law. Although the yellow rose may mean good bye....Gertie will always be forever in all our memories.....
We love you so much and will always miss you.....good bye for now......

This poem was written for our respite worker Jackie. Jackie has worked with our family for over 13 years. My son has autism and and she would come and take care of my children during the day so I could rest or go out and do errands. Both of my Kids.... Abi and Cody love Jackie very much!!!! Her husband Gary and her have become an integral part of my family. Jackie has recently retired but is still a important of us and comes for family dinners and has become very good friends of my mom and dad. This poem was written for her 65th birthday.....

I have written many poems through out the years and have decided to look them up and add them to my blog. It seems that many of these poems are written of relatives that have passed on. I have been asked on numerous occasions to write poems on these truly memorable people. They have all been of great inspiration to me and my immediate family. My favorite poem that I write is the couplet. I like the beat and flow that a couplet brings.....I also enjoy the challenge of creating and finding the words that rhyme and I feel that this style gives my poetry the most meaning and emotion....

So....I guess it is time to add the reasoning behind my blog title. I chose Flounder because I have a small Tatoo of Flounder on my leg. I suppose I like fish because I find them soothihg to watch and I love their beautiful vibrant colors. Also, when my kids were younder they enjoyed watching Little Mermaid. I chose the the title to swim up stream because sometimes I feel that I'm swimming upstream fighting a losing battle of trying to keep up with house work, laundry.. paying bills extra.
Don't get me wrong, I love my life, my family, my job and my home....
My Digital Foot Print

Finally I completed my digital footprint. The colored words on my piece represent all the devices that I use at the moment in technology. The red apples on the pic represent the Apple desk top computer that we have in our home. I have to say that I'm quite proud of myself as I completed and downloaded this item on my blog all by myself. It took me awhile but I did it!!!!
